A wine born of a collaboration between our Abruzzo supplier Cantine Orsogna and LunaGaia, a biodynamic Sicilian agricultural collective.
Its colourful label is a homage to the Sicilian Puppet Theatre, and its name ‘Logistilla’ refers to an imaginary character who appears in the opera ‘Orlando Furioso’, by Ludovico Ariosto. Nerello Mascalese is an indigenous Sicilian grape, here grown on volcanic soils on the slopes of Mount Etna. It’s highly regarded, not least because its higher altitude origins help it avoid the heaviness of some Sicilian reds. The variety is a personal favourite: appealing fleshy and full fruited, with a generous palate of rustic earthy notes, rich fruit and spice. It also has a savoury aspect well suited to tomato-based pasta, aubergine parmigiana, moussaka, and other tasty Mediterranean dishes.
ABV: 12.5%
