Sancerre 'Clos du Roy' 750ml

This elegant white wine comes from some of the estate’s older vines on limestone terrain, with the perfect south-facing aspect for maximum sun.

Light yellow in colour, it initially presents typical varietal character with notes of rhubarb and blackcurrant. The wine benefits from some aeration, becoming more complex, with notes of orange flower, preserved lemons and apricot. The palate is confident and fresh with a creamy aspect and a pleasing, slightly chalky grain. Again there are preserved lemon and pear flavours. The finish is lightly tannic and satisfyingly long.

The wine is stored for 5 – 7 years and is the perfect accompaniment to fish, white meat and cheese dishes.
